You should be able to install a graphics update from either the windows site or directly from the website of whatever graphics card you have installed. A lot of the time newer laptop's are saying that the graphics card is completely up to date when it isn't. If you check this thread you'll find the answer to your problem. If you need an iso version of windows I recommend, that's a legitimate free copy of windows xp. You can then click add new in the vm and it will install that version as a virtual machine.

I'm not sure what you mean by disk? If it's for the vm, see above in the comments about installing an iso file for a previous version of windows (or if you have your own copy of windows on disk). If you look in the above comments I have posted a link to the one I used. You can copy the reinstalled, clean games straight over using an external hard drive or something. If your old laptop with w7 or xp (or vista) is still working you will not have to go to the trouble of installing a virtual machine. I suggest starting the game to check everything is working nicely before copying your back up EA folder into your new one. The computer believes it is still up to date and will install everything correctly.
